Illustrated Classic Colombian Songs
These images emerged from the exercise of listening to a song, closing one’s eyes, and trying to capture what appears in the imagination. In this case, I carried out the exercise using two Colombian cumbias: La Piragua by José Barros and Yo me Llamo Cumbia by Mario Gareña.
Each collection is made up of three different pieces. The first one is merely the concept art of what the song appeared to be in my imagination, a concept art of the musical piece, if you may. The second one is a map, in these two songs real regions and cities are mentioned, so I decided to highlight them to add context to de collection. And the third one is a portrait of the artist that wrote each song, framed in a stamp-like boarder.
